  • Georgetown’s Transplant Institute is ranked among the best in the mid-Atlantic region by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients for liver transplant outcomes and is one of few centers in the country to provide living-donor liver transplants

CyberKnife Stereotactic Radiosurgery

  • Currently the second highest caseload volume in the United States
  • First center on the East Coast and the 6th in the nation to offer CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery to treat tumors and lesions of the brain, neck and spine in 2002
  • Addition of second CyberKnife system in July 2007
  • Synchrony software provides tracking of respiratory motion during treatment, allowing for the treatment of lung, prostate and pancreatic cancers

Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center

  • Officially designated as Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center in December 2007, setting the hospital’s treatment of stroke victims among the best in the nation

Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

  • Currently the only breast imaging center in the Washington areas to receive the designation of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR)
